Mach Dunes offers free golf for life

17th July, 2012 by Jenny Yu

A golf venue described as the ‘world’s most natural golf club’ is offering free golf for life and shared ownership of a cottage for £8,295.

Machrihanish Dunes Golf Club on the Mull of Kintyre, which uses no chemicals or irrigation systems on the fairways and even deploys sheep to keep fescue in check, is offering freehold fractional ownership at the nearby Ugadale Cottages.

The cottages, named ‘small hotel of the year’ by Golf Tourism Scotland in 2010, and awarded a ‘certificate of excellence’ by TripAdvisor, overlook both the Atlantic Ocean and Machrihanish Dunes Golf Club’s neighbour, Machrihanish Golf Club.

The deal, which has been offered so that Machrihanish Dunes can raise revenues, will also result in buyers getting reduced rates at Machrihanish Golf Club and dining privileges at The Kintyre Golf Club. They can also let their cottages out for the week or weeks they do not want to stay there.

@WillotheGlen I also know of two very successful golf courses that use sheep as greenkeepers
