It might have sold six venues in the last three years, but Crown Golf, which owns 27 golf clubs and 44 golf courses, is still Europe’s largest golf venue operator, running the likes of St Mellion International Resort in Cornwall, which would have hosted the English Open had the economic downturn not resulted in its cancellation, and Addington Court in Surrey.
Despite a tough few years, the organisation turns over scores of millions of pounds every year and employs well over 500 people, and its clubs have a reputation for being particularly welcoming to juniors.
