The Golf Power List: 40-314th July, 2012 by admin
31. Eddie Bullock, captain of the Professional Golfers’ Association, consultant, Golf Foundation official and director of Golf at Goodwood
There cant be too many areas of golf that Eddie isn’t an expert on. He played on the European Tour in the 1970s and 1980s, then taught the game, then managed Bedford and County Golf Club for 10 years, and then spent another 10 years as the managing director of Woburn. Plus, he’s an active member of the Golf Club Managers’ Association, the Club Managers’ Association of Europe and the British and International Greenkeeping Association, regularly speaking at events, often advising golf clubs on how to turn around their financial performances.
His experience ensured that he became captain of the Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA) for two years, which culminated in him travelling to Afghanistan with Colin Montgomerie to showcase golf to serving troops.
One of Eddie’s biggest impacts on the industry has been via his directorship of Golf at Goodwood. He is a keen proponent of the flexible ‘credit membership’ scheme the club has, which many predict will be adopted by hundreds of golf clubs within the next few years.
