EGP looks for 60-minute manager
25th January, 2012 by Alistair Dunsmuir
The England Golf Partnership (EGP), the body that provides opportunities for people to start playing golf and aims to make England the ‘world’s leading golf nation’ by 2020, is seeking to recruit a manager to roll out a project to get adults playing a quick form of golf.
The competitive, 60-minute, target format has been successfully tested in the south east at driving ranges and on golf club practice grounds.
“The formula appealed to beginners and advanced players alike and now the EGP wants to recruit a manager to develop and implement the project during the 2012 playing season,” said a spokeswoman.
It is inviting proposals from individuals and organisations with a background in product development, sourcing and marketing and a track record of taking a concept through to successful implementation.
Project co-ordinator Andy Willems said: “This is a very exciting opportunity to build a new game for golf.
“All our research tells us that people want to play a competitive golf-based game within 60 minutes. Now we need someone with the expertise and creativity to make this happen.”
The EGP is a partnership between England Golf and the PGA with the support of the Golf Foundation and Sport England.
