More than 500 UK golf clubs are on Twitter

1st October, 2011 by Alistair Dunsmuir

Two lists have been set up detailing all of the UK golf clubs that have Twitter accounts.

As of late February 2012, it features more than 500 venues, including many of the biggest in golf, such as Celtic Manor, St Andrews and The Belfry.

The venues include golf clubs that have more than one golf course, and golf groups such as Crown Golf and De Vere, which own several clubs, so nearly 1,000 golf courses are represented on the social networking microblogging site.

The majority of venues are active on Twitter, with daily or weekly updates; although about 15 per cent have not done an update for several months.

To view the list of 500 (the maximum Twitter allows) venues, click here: http://w-i-n.es/Lge The second list can be found here: http://w-i-n.es/Ljl

If your golf club is on Twitter but not on the list, then please tweet @AlDunsmuir

  1. More than 500 British golf clubs now have Twitter accounts, at least one-fifth of all in the UK http://t.co/aR6p3SZO
